Private practice of Dr. Nicole Wells, ph.d.
Specialized testing & psychotherapy services.
Supporting neurodiverse minds with compassionate, evidence-based, and individualized care for anxiety, OCD, and life’s challenges.
I provide affirming, evidence-based, and personalized care that goes beyond surface level understanding and coping.
Together, we will work toward growth, clarity, and building lasting tools for emotional well-being.
How I Can Support You
Living with ADHD, autism, anxiety, OCD—or a combination of these—can feel isolating and exhausting. You don’t have to face it alone. I specialize in supporting people who learn, feel, or experience life differently, including neurodivergent, creative, and twice-exceptional individuals. Drawing on over a decade in academic and medical settings, I blend deep knowledge with practical, hands-on care. Together, we’ll uncover your strengths, untangle challenges, develop effective tools, and tailor research-based strategies so they truly fit you, your goals, and your life.
Individual Therapy
Compassionate, individualized, and evidence-based treatment, customized to your values and goals.
OCD Treatment
Specialized ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), the gold standard for OCD and related disorders.
Autism Testing
In-depth, affirming assessments with expertise in complex presentations. I have research and clinical expertise in complex presentations, including groups often under-identified (such as girls and women, racial and ethnic minorities, and those with late diagnoses).
Comprehensive Testing
Includes standardized measures of intellectual abilities (IQ), as well as assessments of emotional, behavioral, and social functioning. Includes evaluation for ADHD, ASD, and learning disorders. The goal is to provide clear, actionable insights that help guide diagnosis, treatment planning, educational supports, and decision-making.
Parent Training
Guidance and skill-building for parents of children with big feelings—empowering you to be the calm, confident parent you want to be.
Family Therapy
An affirming approach to navigating communication and relationship challenges when you or a loved one is neurodivergent.
Each session is tailored to your needs, and pricing is based on the type and length of service. Please contact me for more details.

FAQ’s
-
The duration of therapy varies depending on the chronicity and severity of the problem, skill practice outside of therapy sessions, and consistency of attendance. The goal is to help clients learn how to help themselves and build independence. Many clients will benefit from 12-20 therapy sessions scheduled for 60 minutes each week. Sustainable change takes time - you can do it!
-
My priority is to provide high quality, tailored therapy and testing that is comprehensive, timely, and affordable. Insurance companies require a diagnosis and then make it a permanent part of the client’s medical record. I feel that my clients should be able to choose if they want to do that.
That means that I do not accept insurance. Clients pay my full fee at the time of each session. The OON process works by you paying the full session fee upfront, and then I will provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. I recognize that this is an investment; this is why I use evidence-based treatments designed to help you make progress more quickly.
For testing, it is my priority that decisions about your care and selection of the most appropriate assessments are made by you and me and not insurance employees. My priority is assessment quality. Insurance companies do not cover testing for learning concerns and many other areas that I assess.

I offer self-pay clients the option to split payments across service dates for testing. Clients may choose to split payments into two—50% paid at the intake session and 50% due at the feedback session (typically within 1 month from the last session). I also provide a superbill to submit to insurance for possible reimbursement. If you are planning to submit a superbill to your insurance provider, you are strongly encouraged to check with your insurance provider about the reimbursement process BEFORE seeking services with me. Some insurance providers may require pre-authorization for testing, so please check with your insurance provider before scheduling your testing appointments.

Licensed clinical psychologists have completed a doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD), passed a national exam, been deemed as meeting qualifications by the state psychology board, and engaged in continuing education activities. Additionally, PhD clinical psychology training programs require students to have solid research training to understand and apply treatments and assessments supported by science.
Many clinical psychologists, like myself, also undergo additional years of specialized post-doctoral training. This means that you can trust clinical psychologists to provide treatment techniques that are highly specialized, have strong scientific foundations, and are shown to be effective.
